After more than one year of development, new versions of the popular instant messenger were officially released on Wednesday, August 25, 2010.
Update: The download links are no longer valid, please refer to this page.
The new version has a number of new features and improvements, especially for users of the Windows 7 operating system, a completely new designed icon theme with support for large icons and many improvements to the standard protocols that come with Miranda. Support for unicode status messages and unicode file names in file transfers are among them, but there is a lot more.
Miranda 0.9 can be downloaded from the official site.
TabSRMM 3.0
To complement the release of Miranda 0.9, new versions of my advanced messaging plugins are also available for download. They have various new features and enhancements compared to TabSRMM 2. You can read about here on the blog or browse the documentation on the Wiki. Downloads are available from the official Miranda addons site for both the 32bit UNICODE and 64bit UNICODE release.
The ANSI version has been discontinued and is no longer available. Support for Windows 9x has been dropped, so there is no longer a need for providing an ANSI build.

I've put up new builds for the most recent code changes. It fixes a few outstanding issues with task bar thumbnails and aero peek previews - they are now ALMOST complete (for group chats, a few things are still missing, so don't report them, I know it's not yet as it should be).
Noteworthy changes in this build
- The custom warning dialogs.
- Improvements for the Aero Peek features.
- Some bug fixes
- Icon pack version number updated. You will receive a warning when using an old and possibly incompatible icon pack. New icon packs are included in the downloads.
Also, support for ANSI build was dropped. There won't be any ANSI builds for TabSRMM 3 - all ANSI specific code was removed and the build targets deleted from all project files.

Following the release of Miranda 0.9.alpha#10 a few days ago, I uploaded new alpha builds of TabSRMM version 3 to my googlecode site.
The main reason for this release is an important crash fix which was introduced a few commits before. Unloading or reloading a skin can cause a crash later on, because it incorrectly frees some important stuff in the plugin.
There is also a main new feature - support for custom task bar thumbnails and generic support for "per tab" task bar buttons when running on Windows 7. This feature was recently announced here.
Noteworthy changes
- fixed a crash related to unloading skins.
- Windows 7 task bar support - changed method of activating the tab from the task bar button.
- Changed logic for calculating relative path names for skins when NOT using the folders plugin. You will most likely have to reload your skin.
- fixed default value for the Aero Peek option (Options->Message Sessions->Advanced tweaks).
Please make sure, to check the detailed change log. It contains more information and all the important changes since the last build.
As always, only Unicode builds for x86 and x64 platforms are available. Debug symbols are included for both builds, please use them before posting a crash report.

I've uploaded new Alpha builds from current SVN. As always, only Unicode builds for x86 and x64 are available and they need the VC 2008 runtime.
Also, you should only use this with a recent Miranda build. Officially, only Miranda 0.9 is supported for TabSRMM 3, but recent builds of 0.8 should work (there is no guarantee though).
Noteworthy changes
- some bug fixes (info panel avatar drawing, own nicknames when none was set in the protocol options).
- More custom colors - see this article.
- New log rotation code for group chat logs. The old log truncating wasn't working as it should for a long time anyway.
- Updated some dialogs for more translation space.
- some small improvements for the side bar

The biggest change is the new send later framework which has its own WIKI page in the documentation and you really, really should read that page before playing with it. Both the feature and the documentation is not complete at this time, but basically, it should work. Do not use this for critical messages as there might be a few issues.

Update for the switch bar
New build and this one has, surprise, surprise, a new feature. Two new switch bar layouts were added. They provide larger buttons and can therefore show the avatar. Both vertical and horizontal buttons are available.
Please not that the switch bar is still not complete. It misses a few features, like drag & drop reordering of buttons or a context menu like you can find on the normal tabs.
In skinned mode, the switch bar drawing was slightly improved and there is a new skin item for the switch bar background. Some minor visual glitches are still possible with the switch bar in skinned mode.
Other noteworthy changes in this build
- fixed possible crash when AVS plugin was not installed
- fixed problem with info panel configuration dialog popping up after right-clicking a link in the message log (this only happened, when the info panel was disabled).
- attempt to fix a few rare drawing errors in the tab control
As always with TabSRMM 3, the build should be considered ALPHA quality.

Obviously, still an alpha/preview quality build. Some things are missing. Development goes slow for recent weeks, but eventually, it should get there. The build can be considered feature-complete (no other major additions for TabSRMM 3), but not all features are completely implemented and working.
Both versions are compiled with the Visual Studio 2008 SP1 toolset (but using Visual Studio 2010), so you need the runtime, as always. There is no ANSI build for this test release and TabSRMM 3 will no longer run on Windows 9x. Windows XP is the minimum supported operating system, but it should work on Windows 2000.

I have uploaded new alpha builds of TabSRMM 3 to my Googlecode site. Only Unicode builds are available at this time, for both 32- and 64bit Windows. The builds are compiled with Visual C++ 2008 and come with debug symbols (.pdb format).
If your Miranda cannot load it, you are probably missing the Visual C++ 2008 SP1 runtime.

This is a small update only
No new features. The only change is the implementation of the new plugin interface which will soon be a requirement for Miranda 0.8 (currently in early alpha development stage).
This is for people who are testing preview builds of Miranda 0.8 ONLY. Please do not download this when you are still running a stable Miranda version (0.7.x or earlier) as this may not work.
The binary archive contains both UNICODE and ANSI versions of the plugin in separate folders. Obviously, you should only install one of them :)

The latest version of loadavatars has been released to the file listing.
This is basically 0.0.2.4 released a few days ago with a few minor fixes:
- fixed support for the updater plugin
- Small change in the initialization code to workaround a minor bug in Miranda core (hinted by ghazan).
- fixed keyboard navigation in the *Customize->Contact pictures* dialog.
