Your online privacy is important.
This page is a quick summary of privacy-related information for this site. I have no reason to hide anything and prefer a full disclosure policy, telling you all things you need to know.
When you access this site for reading, the usual information is collected by the web server running this site. Your request will be logged with your IP address and that's it. This is not special to this site - whenever you access a web page anywhere in the world, the server will log your request in the same way. No other data than the HTTP request of your web browser will be collected when you read pages on this site.
When you submit content
You may submit comments to blog articles or pages in which case you create content that will be published on this site. When doing so, I ask you to respect basic rules and stick to general netiquette:
- Don't post links to offensive or otherwise legally questionable material.
- Do not harass other comment authors
- Do not post racist comments.
- No advertising at all. Period. I prefer to keep this site free of ads and I would ask you to do the same. Don't link to ads or tell us what you or your friends would love to sell us. Because we don't care.
When you submit a comment, you must provide a name (this can be any nick name you want) and a valid email address. Your chosen name will be published alongside the comment text, but your email address will not be visible anywhere on this site. With the exception of the site's administrator, no one can view it.
Account registrations and deletion of personal data
At the moment, account registrations are not possible on this site.
Cookies
We are using cookies solely for the purpose of storing user preferences to enhance the browsing experience. Cookies are not analyzed nor do we use any third party cookies. The exception of this rule might be the social network connectivity (see paragraph at the end of this text).
Sharing of information
No private information whatsoever will be sold or otherwise shared to third parties.
Exception to the above rule: To comply with a valid request from law enforcement authorities.
Security statement
We cannot guarantee full invulnerability against unauthorized access to our systems and data storage.
Social network information
This site may contact external servers to implement features related to social networks. Particularly, we are using the Facebook Recommend and Twitter tweet buttons. If you, as a visitor, have a Facebook or twitter account and are logged in while browsing this site, there is a possibility that your visits here (and on any other site using these social networking buttons) are traceable even if you do not use (click) the buttons. Because of these possible threats to a visitor's privacy, the social buttons can be disabled. Simply click the Privacy link in the menu bar and follow the instructions. Your preference will be saved to a cookie so that it will apply in all future visits, as long as you do not delete the cookie.
Google analytics
This site is using Google analytics to generate visitor statistics. If you are concerned about Google Analytics in general, I suggest taking a look here. Google offers addons for various browsers to block the analytics tracking.
